As well as being a musical progression for the band, "Dead silence" also marked Mindslip's first professional studio recording. The four track demo was recorded in Necromorbus studio, resulting in a clear and crushing sound quality that matched the ferocity of the band's performance.

"Dead silence" was hailed by virtually every metal fan exposed to it for its combination of speed and pure sonic aggression with killer grooves and stellar songwriting. Close-Up Magazine praised the band's combination of brutality and technical proficiency, and compared the band to death metal household names such as Cannibal Corpse and Malevolent Creation. Sweden Rock Magazine described the band's music as "a perfectly controlled display of devastation".

Mindslip are currently finishing new material for the release of their first full length album, while searching for a record deal to help spread the word to anyone who has yet to hear their lethal brand of quality death metal.
