Mindslip was formed in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1999 and
has since the beginning consisted of Johan Adamsson,
Daniel Lundh, Andreas Lundin, Janek Hellqvist and
Jaanus Kalli. Adamsson, Lundh and Lundin had been
playing in bands together for years, none of which had
worked out due to personal differences. Hellqvist and
Kalli had been through similar experiences while
playing in other bands, and were now searching for
members to form a metal band. From the very first
rehearsal it was apparent that there was a musical and
personal chemistry between them that had not been
present in any other band they had been a part of. The
decision to form a new band was taken on the spot, and
Mindslip was born.
Initially combining thrash and death metal, the band
recorded two demos ("Dissident" and "No allegiance").
and gradually began incorporating heavier influences
into their material. Dedicated to improving every
aspect of their art, the band continued to push their
limits musically, lyrically and as instrumentalists.
In 2005, the band's dedication and hard work resulted
in their fastest and most brutal recording to date,
"Dead silence". By the recording of "Dead silence", Mindslip had come
into their own as a full-fledged death metal outfit.
