Chronicles of Chaos, september 2005 (Score: 4.5 / 5)
Somewhere between death and thrash, Sweden's Mindslip present us with a four-track demo that instantly detonates in a flurry of percussive riffs, busy drumming and harsh vocals. Citing Slayer, Decapitated, Dying Fetus, The Haunted and Vader as influences, Mindslip make no claims to great originality -- but they cannot be denied the merit of having a crafted a remarkably intense and hard-hitting demo, greatly enhanced by its top-notch production. Mindslip didn't just get a good sound for their demo, either; not only are they technically adept, the frantic pace of the riffs and breaks in this relatively brief outing seems to indicate a band bursting with ideas and enthusiasm. Highly aggressive as it may be throughout, this is no display of mindless musical violence. No real innovation here, but certainly one of the most devastating demos I've ever heard; a record deal seems likely to follow soon.
